Altaf Stationwala, President and CEO of Mackenzie Health & the Mackenzie Innovation Institute, will deliver a keynote at Ramboll Hospital Conference on Feb 6 in Sweden. He’ll share how applied innovation is fueling Mackenzie Health’s journey to Canada’s first smart hospital.

Nov 2, 2017Mi2 showcased the concept of the Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT) and share the role it is playing in delivering healthcare services in an increasingly connected world. As part of the Intelligent Health Pavilion at HealthAchieve 2017, Mi2 has collaborated with its vendor partners to showcase a demonstration highlighting different aspects of IoHT.
In September and October 2017, through collaboration with the Don Mills Family Health Team and the University of Toronto, and at the request of Kathleen Wynne’s office, Mi² hosted a delegation of government leaders for a site visit which resulted in a group of physicians coming to the site for training. Feedback was immensely positive from both visits and has created new relationships with Don Mills FHT and the University for future collaborations of this nature.

Sept 7, 2016Mackenzie Health is expanding its innovation strategy by radically advancing how it delivers non-clinical support services. As part of Mi2’s first-in-Canada Innovation Unit, the hospital is partnering with its support service provider, Sodexo Canada, to expand the interconnectivity of IT systems that manage service fulfillment to improve care through greater efficiencies and patient-centred flexibility.

A real-life laboratory that will test technologies and methodologies to improve the quality of care – with an emphasis on patient safety and outcomes.
